Listening Month Survey 2026

Introduction

Thomas Pocklington Trust (TPT) and Sight Loss Councils (SLC) are hosting the Listening Month Survey, the survey for Blind and Partially Sighted (BPS) people to tell us what matters most to them.

TPT will use the results of this survey to inform our campaigning, services and projects, including any collaboration with partner organisations, to help create a better environment for Blind and Partially Sighted people to live in. We will produce a summary of the results and share these widely.

This survey will run throughout the months of July and August 2026. Any published results will not identify individuals. Your responses are anonymous and cannot be linked back to you. We will only share findings with partner organisations in anonymised form.

Some questions in this survey ask about your sight loss and are optional. By choosing to answer these questions, you consent to TPT using this information for the purposes outlined above.

For more information, please see our Privacy Policy  https://www.pocklington.org.uk/privacy-policy/

We really appreciate your help in completing this survey, and please encourage other blind or partially sighted people to take part.

Your lived experience
There are 11 questions in this section. There are additional free text boxes to share more information. There are no compulsory questions.

About You
Finally, we would like to ask you 8 questions to help us understand a bit more about you. These are in line with the Equality Act 2010 to identify the different groups reached by this survey and any different experiences each group may have.

The more information that you can give about yourself, the better we can identify where potential issues are and work to improve them. All of the information you provide is completely anonymous. For each question there is the option of 'prefer not to say', if you do not wish to answer.

Ethnicity is not about nationality, place of birth or citizenship. It is the group to which you perceive yourself to belong. Please select the box which you feel most appropriately identifies your ethnic background.
