Relationship with Thomas Pocklington Trust

Parent or carer consent to volunteer (for anyone under the age of 18)

I have read the Parent or Carer Guide in respect of this application and I give permission for my son or daughter to undertake all the activities outlined in the role description as part of a volunteering role with Thomas Pocklington Trust.

I understand that although staff or leaders in charge of the activities will take all reasonable care, they cannot necessarily be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury my son or daughter suffers as a result of their volunteering activity.

Thomas Pocklington Trust is committed to safeguarding everyone we work with, so we’ll be in touch to request medical and emergency contact information as well as media consent as part of our volunteer recruitment process.
Criminal Convictions and Disclosures Bureau Services (DBS)

The amendments to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 and 2020) provide that when applying for certain roles, some convictions and cautions are considered “protected”. This means they do not need to be disclosed to employers, and if they are disclosed, employers cannot take them into account.

Supporting your application

We want everyone to have a fair and supportive experience when applying to work with us. We recognise that some applicants may have access needs related to a disability, a health condition, or personal circumstances such as caring responsibilities.

If there is anything that would help the recruitment process work better for you, you can let us know here. We will use this information only to arrange the adjustments you need and to make sure the process is as accessible and comfortable as possible.

Under the Equality Act 2010, a disability is defined as a long-term physical or mental condition that has a substantial impact on day-to-day activities. You do not need a formal diagnosis to tell us what support or adjustments would be helpful, we simply want to understand how we can best enable you to participate fully.

Any information you share is kept confidential and will not affect how your application is assessed.

General Data Protection Regulation

TPT promises to protect your privacy and to follow GDPR law.  We collect and use your information (referred to as personal data) because it is in our legitimate interest – we will only use your personal data in ways that you would reasonably expect and so that we can keep the promises we make to you as a volunteer.

Please read our volunteer privacy policy for further information on how long we will keep your data, how your data may be shared and used, and your rights under GDPR law.
