Volunteer Application Form

Introduction

Our volunteers enable blind and partially sighted people of all ages to live the life they want to lead. You should complete this form to apply for a specific volunteer role with Thomas Pocklington Trust (TPT). Please read the volunteer advert and role description carefully before completing your application.

Many of our volunteer roles involve communicating by email and Microsoft Teams, travelling independently to attend meetings or activities, engaging with others in spoken and written English, and committing time on a regular basis. Before applying, please ensure you have considered whether you can meet the requirements of the role and the time commitment involved. If you have any support needs or reasonable adjustment requirements, we encourage you to discuss these with us as part of the recruitment process.

Please note that to be considered for a Sight Loss Council, Young Voices or Student Voices role you must be blind or partially sighted. If you are not blind or partially sighted but would like to volunteer for TPT, please find out about other volunteering opportunities on our website.

About You

Parent or carer consent to volunteer (for anyone under the age of 18)
I have read the Parent or Carer Guide in respect of this application and I give permission for my son or daughter to undertake all the activities outlined in the role description as part of a volunteering role with Thomas Pocklington Trust.

I understand that although staff or leaders in charge of the activities will take all reasonable care, they cannot necessarily be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury my son or daughter suffers as a result of their volunteering activity.

Thomas Pocklington Trust is committed to safeguarding everyone we work with, so we’ll be in touch to request medical and emergency contact information as well as media consent as part of our volunteer recruitment process.
